Fraudsters are leaving no stone unturned to defraud the bank accounts of the common people to the officials and politicians by adopting new methods. Sometimes cloning your ATM card, sometimes getting information about the accounts of retired government employees on the pretext of submitting their life certificate, on the pretext of reward, collecting money by making video calls and trapping them in the honey trap and adopting various other methods. Taxes are taking money from you.

Only your vigilance can save you from these fraudsters. Talk about the lockdown in Lucknow till now, cybercrime has increased almost four times. In the year 2019, where four to five cases were coming to the cybercrime cell every day. At the same time, now 20-22 complaints are coming every day. In order to save the people from the ever-increasing cybercrime, ACP Cyber ​​Crime Cell Vivek Ranjan Rai under the direction of Commissioner of Police DK Thakur has issued an alert and told the people how to prevent it. On the orders of the Commissioner of Police, Cyber ​​Crime Cell has also put up pamphlets giving information about the prevention of this cybercrime in public places, metro stations, bus stations, airports, markets of the city.

To avoid ATM fraud:

Use the same ATM where there is a guard in the cabin.
Always enter the PIN code hidden in the ATM, do not keep the same code for a long time.
Do not show the CVV number written on the back of the ATM card to any unknown person.
Do not take help of unknown person while withdrawing money from ATM.
Use only debit, credit cards with WiFi, avoid skimmers.

To avoid phone call fraud:

Make sure to know that the bank never calls and asks for your account details. Do not share your account information with anyone.
Do not open or fill any information related to the temptation received from the message.
If you want to update KYC, email, phone number related to the bank account, then do it by going to the bank.
Do not share the OTP and SMS received in the message on the phone with anyone.
Do not fall into the temptation of messages of any prize, lottery which you have not applied for.
Search the customer care number of any company on the respective website or app of Usu and not on any search engine like Google, Yahoo etc.
Do not share your personal banking information on any phone call received in the name of refund, your money is automatically refunded to your bank account within 24 to 72 hours.
No service provider company or bank sends KYC update SMS to its customer, if a message for updating KYC comes on the mobile number of any person then it is definitely done by some fraudster.
Do not share any personal and confidential information on any unknown call or message for SIM shutdown or KYC update.
Pensioners should not believe any call to update their living certificate. Do not share your pension related data. Such data is never called for by the Treasury or Pension Directorate.

To avoid UPI fraud:

Avoid scanning QR codes to collect money.
Do not enter your UPI PIN on payment requests or transaction links sent by unknown persons.
Never share your UPI PIN or OTP (One Time Password) with anyone.
UPI PIN is never required to receive money. Avoid doing this.
Do not enter your banking information on any link sent to receive payment. Do not scan QR code. QR code is scanned only for sending money and not for receiving.

To avoid the honey trap

Accept friend requests from unknown persons on Internet media such as Facebook, Instagram etc. only after careful consideration.
While searching for life partner on matrimonial sites like Shaadi.com, BharatMatrimony.com, Jeevansathi.com, etc., do not pay even by falling prey to an unknown person.
Be careful while using dating apps like Tinder, Qtu, Lovu, Locanto etc.
Avoid erotic chats on internet media, WhatsApp, messenger and erotic video calls.
To avoid internet media fraud
Do not accept friend requests from strangers.
Never accept video calls from unknown people.
Never share login user password with anyone.
Do not open any unknown link.
Always keep your profile locked.
Do not have sex chat with unknown person on WhatsApp.
Do not like or comment on any post that disturbs social, political, religious harmony.
Do not join any group that serves child pornography, female crime and pornography.
How to Avoid Hacking Computer E-mails
Always use updated anti virus.
Do not click on a link sent by an unknown person.
Do not search or open banned websites, porn sites.
Carefully study any e-mail id received for any financial transaction, avoid e-mail spoofing.
