Samsung Finally Announces its Galaxy A16 5G with 6 Years of Android OS and Security Updates: Listed in France and Netherlands
Samsung, the South Korean smartphone maker, has now finally announced its latest Galaxy A16 5G smartphone. The device has been listed on the brand’s official France and Netherlands websites.

Samsung Galaxy A16 5G – Officially Announced
Samsung’s Galaxy A16 5G, as we had revealed earlier via our exclusive report, will be powered by two chipsets – Exynos 1330 and Dimensity 6300, and the device that has been listed in France and Netherlands is believed to be equipped with the brand’s very own Exynos 1330 chipset. It is currently listed with a 4GB/128GB storage option, with an expandable storage support of up to 1TB. The device runs on the Android 14-based One UI 6.1, and just like we had exclusively revealed, the brand has promised 6 years of Android OS updates and 6 years of security patch updates.
For its display, the smartphone features a Super AMOLED display with the expected 6.7″ screen size, 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and 800 nits HBM. On the camera side, there is a 50MP (main, wide) + 5MP (ultrawide) + 2MP (macro) triple rear camera unit and a 13MP (wide) selfie camera.
The device is also backed by a 5000 mAh decent battery that supports a 25W wired fast charging feature. Other specs include 5G network connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with dual-band support, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC (market dependent), USB type-C 2.0, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, 7.9 mm thickness, and 200 gm weight.
Regarding the color variants and price, along with the Light Green/Turquoise, Blue Black/Midnight Black, and Gold color choices that we have revealed, it will also come in a Light Grey (appears like White) color as well. However, the Gold color choice hasn’t been listed on the two websites’ purchase pages. In France, the 4GB/128GB model has been priced EUR 249, while in Netherlands, it has been listed for ANG 229.
Also to add, in the Indian market, the Galaxy A16 5G has been tipped to launch in the mid-half of October 2024 according to our exclusive report. One more thing to note, Indian customers will be offered the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 model of the smartphone. The launch of the smartphone in Malaysia has also been confirmed with its recent SIRIM certification.
