Intel Officially Unveils Intel Core Ultra 200S Desktop Processors: Check Out The Details

Yesterday, Intel officially announced the launch of its latest Intel Core Ultra 200S processors that are said to enhance performance in AI, gaming, and content creation. These processors are said to be ideal for creators and gamers.

Intel Core Ultra 200S Series: Features

This new processor series is codenamed Arrow Lake S. The series includes 5 SKUs- Core Ultra 9 285K, Core Ultra 7 265K, Core Ultra 265KF, Core Ultra 5 245K and Core Ultra 5 245KF.

This series is said to offer a 9% improved IPC for P cores when compared to 14th Gen and a 32% improvement in IPC for E cores. These processors also feature an upgraded Xe-LPG integrated GPU and support 13 TOPS of NPU performance.

They arrive with a new CPU design- tile-based. CPU, PU, SoC, and IO all get their own tiles along with a base tile and filler tile. Intel has scaled Skymont and Lion Cove to gaming PCs enabled by Foveros Advanced 3D packaging technology.

Intel has also explained that a 285K processor on average is 8% faster than 14900K and 4% faster than 9950X in single-threaded works while 285K is 15% faster than 14900K and 13% faster than 9950X in multi-threaded workloads. Not only this the company has also claimed that its 285K processor can achieve the same multi-threaded performance as a 14900K processor at half the power. You can check out the graphs below.

Intel Core Ultra 9 285K is said to run cooler and use less power than i9-14900K. The 285K processor is said to offer the same frame rates while gaming as Raptor Lake R at up to -165W lower system power while it is said to run on average 13 degrees cooler than 14900K.

Intel also claims 50% faster AI-assisted video editing, 8x faster playback for professional video codecs and a 20% speed increase in ray-traced rendering compared to AMD Ryzen 9 9950X.

Intel Core Ultra 200S series processors come integrated with up to 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports, Intel Killer WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 and discrete I/O up to 4 Thunderbolt 5 ports, Intel Killer WiFi 7, and Bluetooth 4. They support up to DDR5-6400 memory, up to 48GB per DIMM, and up to 192GB maximum capacity.

These latest processors will run on Intel 800 series motherboards starting with the Z890 chipset that includes 48 PCIe lanes, 24 PCIe 4.0 lanes, and connectivity options like USB 3.2 ports, eSPI, and SATA III links.
