OnePlus Rolls Out OxygenOS 14 Updates for 8T, Nord 2T, Nord CE3 5G, and 9 Series with Trinity Engine Optimization, Default Alarm Settings, and October 2024 Security Patch

OnePlus, the popular smartphone manufacturer, has announced a series of OxygenOS 14 updates for several of its devices. The updates, which are being rolled out incrementally, bring new features, improvements, and the latest security patches to the OnePlus 8T, Nord 2T, Nord CE3 5G, and the OnePlus 9 series.

OnePlus 8T

The OnePlus 8T is receiving the OxygenOS 14.0.0.603 update, which is currently rolling out in the Indian region.

  • Adds the feature of setting the default alarm sound in “Clock” for all alarms in a unified manner.
  • Adds a module to Trinity Engine to optimise apps after system updates, speeding up app launches and reducing power consumption.
  • Improves the user experience of scrolling screenshots. Notifications and Live Alerts messages won’t pop up and floating windows won’t be displayed when you take a scrolling screenshot.
  • Integrates the October 2024 Android security patch to enhance system security.

Security

  • Adds a “Deny only when app launches” option to the “Device motion & orientation” permission in “Settings” for refined control of application jumps.

OnePlus Nord 2T

The Nord 2T is getting the OxygenOS 14.0.0.607 update in both India and Europe.

The OnePlus 9 series is receiving the OxygenOS 14.0.0.720 update in India.

All these updates are being rolled out incrementally, starting with a small percentage of users before a broader release in the coming days. OnePlus encourages users in India to report any bugs they encounter by dialing *#800# in the Google Dialer app.

Notably, as of the latest reports, there have been no user-reported issues with these updates for any of the above smartphones.
