JioHotstar Domain Acquired by ‘A dreamer’ to Fund his Higher Studies

A person whose identity still remains unknown and who has revealed himself as ‘A dreamer’, cleverly predicting the merge between Disney+ Hotstar and JioCinema after coming across a news piece back in early 2023 regarding Disney+ Hotstar losing the IPL streaming license and thereby starting to lose its active users, and its decision to merge with one of its Indian competitors. As he understood that Sony and Zee won’t likely become the mergers, and that Reliance Industries owned Viacom 18 is the only other company with the resources, the possible result or outcome of this would be the merge of Disney+ Hotstar and JioCinema. Considering the previous case of Saavn being re-branded as JioSaavn after being brought under Jio, the new platform was possibly expected to be re-branded as JioHotstar, in his opinion.

Well, it turns out he was in fact right with his prediction and a few days back, it was reported that Reliance Industries did acquire the ownership of Disney+ Hotstar and is planning on making the Disney+ Hotstar its primary streaming platform, integrating JioCinema, as it possess more superior technology infrastructure. While the official announcement about the re-branding has not yet been shared, it could become JioHotstar itself.
