OnePlus Introduces its Latest OxygenOS 15 Custom Skin; OnePlus 12 [IN] OxygenOS 15 Closed Beta Program Announced
The Chinese leading consumer electronics maker, OnePlus, has officially introduced its OxygenOS 15 custom skin based on the Android 15 operating system. The brand’s latest custom user interface brings parallel processing, a new design, and a bunch of AI features. The OxygenOS 15 open beta program roll-out timeline has also been shared. OxygenOS 15 Custom Skin Introduced
The newly-introduced OxygenOS 15 custom skin aims in offering a seamless and faster user experience to its users, and integrates the industry’s first parallel processing in animation covering widgets, components, and folders. For a uniform user experience on the device, OnePlus has also extended its swiping functions to third-party apps and web-view interfaces too.
At the heart, the OxygenOS 15 brings a new design to its users, consisting of revamped icons and enhanced color palettes. The Shelf feature has also received certain upgrades. On Split mode, users from now on will also be able to access the notification drawer and quick settings by swiping from the top left and from the top right respectively.
For a much better personalization experience, OxygenOS 15 brings OnePlus Onetake. Users will thus be able to personalize their home screen, lock screen, and always-on display with photos from their camera or gallery with many interesting effects or design. Other customization or personalization options include color blending, depth effects, blurred wallpapers, glass textures, and AI-driven auto-fill on lock screen, and blurred wallpapers and glass paper support on home screen too.
On the productivity and creativity side, AI tools and features such as AI Eraser, AI Unblur, AI Reflection Eraser, AI Detail Boost, Pass Scan, AI Notes, AI Toolbox 2.0, AI Summary, AI Writer, and AI Reply are present. For smarter search, Circle to Search and Intelligent Search features have been added as well. Other features include Open Canvas, Fluid Cloud, and OnePlus Share.
Finally, coming to the privacy and security features, Google Play Protect Live Threat Detection for app monitoring and theft protection/anti-theft features like Auto lock screen after theft, Remote Lock, Offline Lock, and Post-steal sensitive operation protection are integrated.
OxygenOS 15 – Open Beta Program Roll-Out Schedule
OnePlus, following the unveiling of OxygenOS 15, has also shared the open beta roll-out timeline of the latest custom skin to its devices. As per what has been shared, on the 30th of October 2024, this month, the OnePlus 12, OnePlus 12R, and OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition models will be eligible to receive the OxygenOS 15 open beta version. In November 2024, next month, the open beta will be made available for OnePlus Open and OnePlus Pad 2 devices, followed by the availability to OnePlus 11 5G, OnePlus 11R 5G, OnePlus Nord 4, OnePlus Nord CE 4, and OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite 5G smartphones and OnePlus Pad tablet in December 2024.
Next year, in the month of January 2025, OnePlus 10 Pro 5G, OnePlus 10T 5G, and OnePlus Nord 3 5G smartphone users will be able to access the OxygenOS 15 open beta version, and in February 2025, users of the OnePlus 10R 5G and OnePlus Nord CE 3 5G.
OnePlus 12 – OxygenOS 15 Closed Beta Program
The OnePlus 12 smartphone users in India (2000 candidates) are now being invited for the closed beta program of the OxygenOS 15, and interested users may go to the devices ‘Settings’ page, select ‘About device’, and tap on ‘Up to date’. There click on the ‘Beta program’ and apply for the closed beta program following the necessary steps.
To note, the candidates must make sure that they are active members of the OnePlus Community and should be willing to share feedback via the Feedback app and also willing to join the OxygenOS 15 closed beta program Telegram group. It should also be noted that as this is the beta version, there may be certain bugs and issues, and users must be cautious about them. They may download the necessary instructions after approval from Settings>About Device>Download now. Bugs can also be reported on the pop-up menu which appears on dialing ‘*#800#’, and queries can be addressed on the respective update thread.
