Qualcomm’s Next Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 Chip Launch Time Frame Tipped; Xiaomi Device Said to First Feature it
A new Weibo update has arrived pointing out that the next Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip is launching early next month and it will be featured on an upcoming Xiaomi smartphone device.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 Coming Early Next Year in a Xiaomi Smartphone?
This update comes from the tipster Smart Pikachu and as per his Weibo post, next year in Q1 2025, we will be able to witness the release of the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip of Qualcomm. In addition to this, he also notes that the mobile chip will first be featured on a Xiaomi smartphone device as well.
Speaking more, the previous Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip was unveiled on 18th March 2024 and the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro arrived as the first smartphone featuring it on the 21st of March 2024, three days later. [Its re-branded version – Xiaomi 14 Civi also uses the same processor.] Looking more into the tipster’s post, he has added ‘Xiaomi Civi 5’ as a hashtag. This could mean that just like the previous Civi 4 Pro, the upcoming Civi 5 device may be the first smartphone to be powered by Qualcomm’s next Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip (and may likely be launched in the same month).
About the other previous updates, it was being said that Xiaomi may discontinue its Civi-lineups, however, it was Smart Pikachu himself who had revealed that the ‘new Civi’ is progressing steadily and will not be discontinued. In a follow-up post, by mentioning ‘Xiaomi Civi series’, he also suggested that maybe more than just one Civi model is likely to arrive this time. [Do note that after the initial Civi and Civi 1S, the following reiterations only came with one model each.] Beautiful body, interesting color choices, better front-facing camera system, and improved performance were also tipped.
