Looks like another Dimensity 6300 SOC smartphone incoming from Samsung, “Galaxy M16 5G” Spotted on Geekbench
Samsung has two new smartphones gearing up for launch, called the Galaxy M16 5G and Galaxy F16 5G. Both smartphones will carry similar specifications, as we have seen in earlier launches. In India, the Galaxy F series has traditionally launched via Flipkart, whilst the M series has always been available through Amazon India. In a recent WiFi Alliance listing, both smartphones were listed with model numbers ‘SM-M166P/DS’ and ‘SM-E166P/DS’. Now, the Galaxy M16 5G has appeared on the Geekbench database, revealing key details.

First spotted by the team at 91Mobiles, the device with model number “SM-M166P” has revealed its processor details. According to the listing, it has managed to achieve a single-core score of 552 and a multi-core score of 1611. The listing shows six cores clocked at 2GHz, whilst two are clocked at 2.4GHz, with motherboard codename M16xm. The source code reveals a Mali G57 MC2 GPU, and combining all information points to a Dimensity 6300 SoC. The prototype tested on Geekbench features 8GB of RAM.
For reasons unknown, Samsung may choose to include Android 14 out of the box for this upcoming smartphone.
Samsung recently launched the Galaxy A16 5G in the Indian and global markets. The main highlight was the update policy (6 OS+6 Security Patch) Samsung offered with that smartphone, which also featured the Dimensity 6300 SoC. It remains to be seen whether Samsung will bring the same update policy to this smartphone.
Regarding the launch timeline or pricing, we may need to wait. However, since it has been appearing on certification sites, we might expect an announcement soon.
