UST Teams Win All Top Three Places in c0c0n 2024 Capture the Flag Competition

UST has secured all three top positions in the Capture the Flag (CTF) competition at c0c0n 2024, held at The Leela, Gandhinagar, Gujarat on November 27, 2024. The event marks the 17th edition of India’s international cybersecurity conference.

The competition, renamed from DomeCTF to BESEC.CTF this year, featured challenges in Web Challenges, Reverse Engineering, Cryptography, API Exploitation, Digital Forensics, and Steganography. Among 35 participating teams across India, UST’s Information Security (IS) division teams secured all top positions.

Team R38007, with Information Security Lead Shine Mohammed and Information Security Analyst Anand Sreekumar, won first place. Team localgho5t, led by Information Security Lead Shibin B Shaji and Information Security Analyst Gokul Krishna S, secured the first runner-up position. Team Cyber Ninjas, with Information Security Lead Vishnu Prasad P G and Information Security Analyst Athul Nair, became the second runner-up. David Baptiste, Researcher ERNW Germany, and Rejah Rehim, CEO of Beagle Security, presented the awards.

UST had previously secured winner and first runner-up positions at c0c0n 2023’s CTF competition. The conference, organized by the Information Security Research Association (ISRA), brings together cybersecurity professionals, industry leaders, researchers, and enthusiasts to promote information security and privacy awareness.
