Motorola Announces Razr 50 Ultra/Razr+ and Edge 50 Neo in Pantone’s 2025 Colour of the Year, Mocha Mousse

Motorola has announced that it will be the first and only brand to release smartphones in PANTONE® 17-1230 Mocha Mousse, the Pantone Color of the Year 2025. The Motorola Razr 50 ultra (also known as the Motorola Razr+) and the Motorola Edge 50 Neo will feature this warm, earthy brown hue as part of the brand’s ongoing collaboration with Pantone.

The Mocha Mousse colour is designed to make a connection with nature, comfort, and luxury. Motorola has added a unique element to these special edition devices—a soft inlay with coffee grounds applied to the surface, offering a tactile experience that complements the colour’s essence. Pantone describes Mocha Mousse as a luxurious yet approachable shade that extends the perception of brown, transforming it from simple and grounded to aspirational and sophisticated. Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute, commented on the collaboration:

Ruben Castano, Vice President of Customer Experience and Design at Motorola, explained the motivation behind the colour’s inclusion:

“Mocha Mousse reinforces the importance of savoring the moment—a reminder to indulge in life’s simple pleasures. Mocha Mousse also inspired us to create a new soft inlay composed of coffee grounds. Its warm and comforting essence embodied the sensory nature of this shade.”

Earlier this year, Motorola introduced the Razr 50 Ultra in Spring Green, Hot Pink, Midnight Blue, and Peach Fuzz, while the Edge 50 Neo was released in Nautical Blue, Latte, Grisaille, and Poinciana. The addition of Mocha Mousse continues the brand’s emphasis on vibrant and thoughtful colour choices.

Availability and Pricing

The Motorola Razr 50 Ultra/Motorola Razr+ and Motorola Edge 50 Neo in Mocha Mousse will be available in select markets globally, with the Razr 50 Ultra in Mocha Mousse also set to launch in China. While pricing details have not yet been announced, they are expected to be in line with previous models, as the only difference is a change in colour.
