The Chinese smartphone maker, Xiaomi, under its Redmi branding has already debuted its Redmi K80 series sub-flagships in its home market, whereas in India, the Redmi Note 14 5G series smartphones were unveiled recently. While many smartphone brands are planning to bring small screen devices to the market, it has been reported that no new small screen phone will be coming under the Redmi branding anytime soon.
Here’s more about the update.
No New Redmi Small Screen Phone Soon?
This update has been shared by the well-known tipster on the Weibo platform – Digital Chat Station, who has noted that ‘Redmi will not release a small screen in the short term’. He again adds that the upcoming devices that are expected to launch in the second and third quarter of next year in 2025 are all believed to be regular large screen phones. Moreover, he mentions, even if Xiaomi plans to unveil a Redmi small screen phone later in 2025, it is most likely not going to feature a 6.3″ screen size, but probably a 6.5″ – 6.6″ display screen.
Notably, we saw Vivo debuting a new X200 Pro mini device, and OPPO is said to unveil a Find X8 mini model early next year. Also to add, Samsung is also preparing a Galaxy S25 Slim model too this time as per reports, with thin and light form factor design.
Speaking of the known Redmi-branded upcoming devices, Redmi K80 Ultra, Redmi Turbo 4, and Redmi Turbo 4 Pro are reportedly coming soon. The Redmi K80 Ultra will be the third smartphone model of the Redmi K80 series, while the two Turbo models are said to use the Dimensity 8400 and Snapdragon 8s Elite/Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chips respectively.
