Former Australian Batsman, Michael Slater arrested on charges of domestic violence

Michael Slater, the opening batsman who played in manifold test matches and ODIs for Australia was arrested on Wednesday on charges of domestic violence. The accomplished cricketer, who represented Australia in 74 Tests and 42 One Day Internationals from 1993 to 2001, was arrested from the Australian suburb of Manly after a brief interaction.  A probe was conducted on this matter by The New South Wales police after hearing about the incident last week and eventually, Slater was arrested from his Sydney home

The 51 year old, former batsman, created a huge ruckus in May when he accused the Australian Prime Minister for banning the Australian citizens to return from India, due to a surge in the Covid-19 cases. Mr. Slater took to social media to express his disgust and the inability of the Australian administration to deal with the pandemic crisis.  Michael Slater had been in India during that time of the year working as a chief commentator for the Indian Premier League.
