Brave Brings Out New Fix to Prevent YouTube From Detecting Ad Blockers

While ads are a major issue that hinders user experience for many, ad blockers are the only relief from these unwanted ads if one doesn’t want to pay for the premium versions. Late last month in November 2024, we saw how Spotify put a full stop on all cracked and modded versions of its services, and in a similar way, YouTube has been sharing warning messages to users pointing out that ad blockers are not allowed and in order to have an ad-free experience, purchasing the premium membership is the only resort.

Brave, the free and open-sourced web browser that many rely on to prevent ads from appearing also has had to face these warnings from YouTube, and users of the Brave browser are also now fed up. After the fixes that were shared to try and fix the problem, Brave has now actually brought out a new update for its users which carries the fix that will resolve the problem of YouTube detecting ad blockers.

Here’s more about it.

Brave’s New Fix for Preventing YouTube Ad Blockers Detection

While Brave users have been trying their luck with previous fixes such as updating the browser, toggling ad blocker extensions, logging out of YouTube, using a private window, and clearing cache or cookies, with the new update fix, they can finally bring a solution to this problem that is becoming a headache.

Users of the Brave browser just have to navigate to ‘brave://components’ and tap on ‘Check for Update’, and then go to ‘Brave add Block Updater’. After updating to the version ‘1.0.9653’ or later, refresh the YouTube tabs and users will be all good to go.
