PM Modi thanked Bill Gates for this reason on social media
Recently Bill Gates congratulated India on administering 1 billion doses of covid vaccine. He wrote India has administered 1 billion vaccine doses, a testament to India’s innovation, ability to manufacture at scale, and the efforts of millions of health workers backed by CoWIN. Congratulations.

On Thursday, India reached a major milestone in its fight against Covid-19, as the country’s total vaccinations surpassed 100 million.
India is only the second country to surpass the milestone of 100 crore vaccinations, following China, which has delivered more than 200 crore doses. While the immunization rates in countries with huge populations, such as the United States, Brazil, and Indonesia, have been relatively stable, India’s has been steadily increasing. Almost 75% of the eligible population has received at least the first dose, with eight states and UTs obtaining 100% first-dose coverage. According to government data, four more states and UTs had more than 90% coverage of the first dose.
In his reply, PM Modi replied by thanking him for the same. He wrote Thank You
for your appreciation of the efforts of Indian scientists, health workers, and innovators in achieving the 1 billion vaccine milestone. India remains a steadfast partner in global efforts towards fighting this pandemic.
