Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro Series Camera Specs Tipped: Same Rear Cameras, But Upgraded Front Camera
As always, the rumors and updates concerning the next iPhone 17 series are quite frequently being shared and now, the possible camera specs of the upcoming pro models have been tipped online. From what it seems, the brand may retain the same rear camera specs on this time’s iPhone 17 Pro series as well, and may only bring a hardware upgrade on the front camera.

iPhone 17 Pro Series – Tipped Camera Specs
This update comes from the tipster – Digital Chat Station, who via his Weibo update has revealed that the iPhone 17 Pro series main camera system won’t likely be upgraded. As per his post, the same 48MP (1/1.3″ aperture) main camera, 48MP ultrawide camera, and 48MP (5x zoom) periscope telephoto camera are likely to be retained. Moreover, he adds that the same GP glass and plastic combination lenses will be used for the main and telephoto cameras too.
As mentioned, the only camera hardware upgrade for the iPhone 17 series pro models could be with the front-facing camera, and from the 12MP camera sensor, this time the brand is suggested to offer a 24MP selfie camera.
Speaking more, we have already come across the possible rear panel and front display concept images of the iPhone 17 series, and one of the notable design change is the projected pill-shaped horizontal rear camera module, apart from the even slimmer bezels and smaller Dynamic Island. However, it is really unfortunate to see that Apple may not bring any upgrades on the rear camera units’ hardware side. At least, we can expect some upgrades in terms of the camera software.
Furthermore, a previous update from this same tipster had also pointed out that the iPhone 17 series standard version – the vanilla iPhone 17 device, is probably going to arrive with a higher refresh rate support from the 60Hz refresh rate, and some change could be arriving on the higher models as well.
More updates are obviously going to be shared in the coming days, weeks, and months, until the latest iPhone series devices have their debut this year. Considering the previous launch time frames, it is likely to take place in September or October 2025 (assuming).
Stay tuned for more updates.
