New Aadhaar App Unveiled at the Aadhaar Samvaad Event in Delhi
At the recently held Aadhaar Samvaad event, on the 8th of April 2025 in Delhi, UIDAI has unveiled its new Aadhaar app. Ashwini Vaishnaw – the Minister of Electronics and Information Technology at the event also stated on how the new Aadhaar app will make Aadhaar verification more easy, just like making UPI payments, enabling users to digitally verify and share their Aadhaar details when required, all while ensuring privacy.
Coming to its features, with a revamped design and added face ID authentication, users of the new Aadhaar app will be able to share only the necessary data with just a simple tap, providing them with full control over their personal information. By scanning the QR code or using a request application, users will be able to digitally verify and share their data as mentioned above.
One of the most primary benefits of the new Aadhaar app is that, the need for scanning and photocopying the Aadhaar document won’t be necessary. By becoming 100% digital and secure, users from now on won’t have to leave their Aadhaar copies at hotels, shops, or during travel. Stronger privacy, no misuse or leaks of Aadhaar data, and protection against forgery or editing are the key advantages of the new Aadhaar app.
As it is still in the beta testing phase, the new Aadhaar app has only been made available to a small group of users (including the registered participants of the Aadhaar Samvaad event). After taking into account all the feedback received from both users and ecosystem partners, it will soon be made available and accessible to everyone.
