Google shares ‘Year in Search’ results for 2019

We all spend the whole year searching for different things on Google – sometimes informative, sometimes weird, and some times anything we want to know because Google certainly has all the answers. But the most fun part of all this searching is the company’s ‘Year in Search’ results.

This year even, Google has shared a list, underlining every moment in Search across news, sporting events, personalities, movies, songs and more. 

The topmost search throughout the year has been ‘How to play PUBG’:

PUBG, when started, became one of the largest game’s played around the world. Due to this, a lot of new users wanted to play the game. However, for the newer audience getting a hand of a difficult game like PUBG was a bit difficult. Which is why searches regarding PUBG tutorials might have seen a huge surge.

Then, the second search on the list is ‘How to select channels as per TRAI’:

A big difference in the television industry in 2019 was the rule change made by TRAI, where users rather than getting the channels that their TV service provider was providing them with, got to select what all channels they want to see

Not at all surprising, when India was all set to reach the moon, every eye was glued to the screens watching the live telecast. Hence, ‘Chandrayaan 2’ accounts for another major search this year.

Launched on July 22, Chandrayaan 2 was the second lunar exploration mission developed by ISRO. 

With the ban of e-cigarettes by the Indian Government, many people this year even searched for ‘What is e-cigarette’.

‘How to get Fastag’ was yet another search open in most of the households, when the government announced that every car in India has to have Fastag installed.
