The Khel Ratna Award, officially known as the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award in Sports and Games, was earlier known as the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award in Sports and Games. The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports gives it out once a year.
This year this award has been awarded to Neeraj Chopra who won the gold medal during the 2021 Olympics.
