Don’t want to brag but … I’m the best at humility – Elon Musk
Elon Musk on Friday came on his favourite platform Twitter and said “I Don’t want to brag but … I’m the best at humility”. Elon Musk has been a centre of attraction recently from cryptocurrency to space. Everywhere he is the one who has been making headlines.
He has done a lot for the community and here are some of the work done by him.
- $1 million to Feeding Texas, which operates food banks in the new home state of Musk and his foundation. Gifts of undisclosed amounts to a fund run by Barstool Sports (after initially resisting); a space-focused competition run by SteamSpace; and a project run by UNICEF to expand internet access in the developing world.
- After 2016, the foundation transferred around $50 million to donor-advised funds (DAFs), which are private charitable organisations that don’t have to disclose their gifts and allow foundations to avoid having to give away 5% of their assets every year. Last year, a Musk representative told Forbes that those DAFs had donated a total of $75 million to organisations over the course of their lives.
- Musk founded his charity in 2001 with his younger brother Kimbal, who would act as secretary and treasurer for the company. Musk made his first major donation to the foundation the following year, shortly after eBay purchased PayPal, a payments startup in which Musk had a stake. Musk gifted his company 30,000 eBay shares worth $2.1 million.
