Royal Challengers Bangalore head coach Sanjay Bangar has intimated that AB de Villiers may join the franchise in some form. Recently retired players are interested in performing diverse roles for the franchise, according to Bangar, one of the commentators for the ongoing Test series between India and New Zealand.
AB de Villiers announced his retirement from all forms of cricket earlier this year. He’s close friends with Virat Kohli and the Bangalore franchise’s management, and there’s a chance he’ll join them as a mentor for the tournament’s 15th season.
The right-handed batter was one of RCB’s greatest players, and he helped the team win several games.
