Sunrise Orange and Passionate Purple, the airline’s new brand colours, were also unveiled.

In a press statement, Akasa Air claimed, “With India’s youngest and greenest fleet, the Akasa Air brand is built on a clear promise to give a warm, trustworthy, and inexpensive travel experience.”

According to Kapil Kaul, chief executive, India subcontinent, Center for Asia Pacific Aviation, Akasa should begin operations in the fiscal year 2022-23, while Jet Airways 2.0 is expected to launch in the second quarter of the year (July-September).

According to reports, Akasa, which has purchased 72 MAX aircraft, would need at least 288 cabin crew members, though the number is likely to be higher because the airline will need to offer back-up in the event that one crew member becomes ill. To be sure, the airline won’t need as many all at once because the planes will be delivered in stages; Akasa hasn’t said how many planes it will start with or how many it will induct each year.

Akasa Air announced its leadership team, which includes Vinay Dube, the airline’s founder, managing director, and chief executive officer. The airline’s chief marketing and experience officer will be Belson Coutinho, its chief financial officer will be Ankur Goel, and its chief commercial officer will be Praveen B Iyer. Akasa was co-founded by Aditya Ghosh, the former president of IndiGo Airline.
