India won and lead the 3 match Test series by 1-0
India took South Africa’s three remaining wickets shortly after lunch to seal a 113- run win on the fifth day of the opening Test against South Africa in Centurion on Thursday. South Africa lost Quinton de Kock for 21 runs to Mohammed Siraj while Wiaan Mulder also departed soon after for one run off the bowling of Mohammed Shami to give India their sixth and seventh wickets discretely shortly before lunch to put India in control. Before, Dean Elgar was eventually dismissed for 77 runs for LBW off a Jasprit Bumrah delivery to give Team India their first enhancement of Day 5. The victory gives India vital 1-0 lead in the three- match Test series against South Africa.
South Africa had finished the fourth day at 94 for four with captain Dean Elgar unbeaten on 52 after Indian batters caved in on a track with uneven brio, getting all out for 174 in just 50.3 overs. Earlier,, wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant top- scored for India in the second innings with a run-a-ball 34 as the visiting team was all out for 174 in the alternate innings. Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen took four wickets each while Lungi Ngidi got two wicketsfor South Africa. India had bowled South Africa out for 197 after making 327 in their first innings.
