A series of six super tackles from U.P. Yoddha sinks Bengaluru Bulls with sensational defence

A remarkable six Super Tackles from U.P. Yoddha’s defense contributed to their 42-27 victory over Bengaluru Bulls. Sharikant Jadhav had a great performance and finished the game with 15 points. Off the bench, Bulls’ Bharat scored 11 points. Vivo Pro Kabaddi record of 22 tackle points was broken by U.P. Yoddha.

As the game progressed, both teams matched each other point-for-point to keep the scores level for the first nine minutes. Four unanswered points gave the Bulls the advantage. The Bulls’ lead was cut to a couple of points after Surender Gill and Shrikant Jadhav scored on offense to keep the deficit at four.

The Bulls defence quickly revived Sehrawat, but his stay on the mat was brief as Gill and Gurdeep Super Tackled him again. In the second half, Gill added a bonus before assisting Chandran Ranjit on defense.

The Uttar Pradesh defence kept up its stellar play, as Sumit and Nitesh Kumar combined to tackle Bharat, pushing their team’s lead to three. After U.P.’s substitute Mohammad Taghi scored two points, the defense pinned Deepak Narwal in the final raid of the half to lead 19-14 at halftime.

Bengaluru’s lone player surrendering on the mat helped Uttar Pradesh’s Yoddha win the first All Out and take an eight-point lead. The second half of the match saw U.P. gain three more points from Shirikant Jadhav and Ashu, extending their lead to 11 points. In the next seven minutes, the Bulls scored to match U.P. Yoddha point for point to keep their hopes of a comeback alive.

In a Super Raid from Bharat, the Bulls’ deficit was cut to six and Yoddha was left with just three men on the mat. Yoddha’s defence stopped Bengaluru short in their tracks by making two super tackles in quick succession to push their lead back up to 11. Just as Bengaluru found some momentum and were on the comeback trail, Yoddha’s defence halted them short.

Bharat completed his Super 10 after escaping a tackle attempt from Sumit, but in his subsequent raid, he became the victim of U.P. ‘s sixth Super Tackle, ending the Bulls’ chances of winning the match. In the final three minutes of the game, Yoddha outscored the Bulls 5-2, winning the game by 15 points despite a healthy lead.
