Elon Musk is concerned that If birth rate continues to decline then civilization will indeed die with a whimper in adult diapers

Elon Musk has shown interest in the past also about the alarming decline in the birth rate. He stated in one of his recent posts that If the alarming collapse in birth rate continues, civilization will indeed die with a whimper in adult diapers.

Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla and SpaceX, has claimed that one of the greatest threats to human civilisation is diminishing birth rates and population. According to the world’s wealthiest man, a drop in the world’s population might have devastating consequences for human civilisation.
“We don’t have enough people.” “I can’t stress this enough, there aren’t enough people,” Musk remarked on December 7 at a Wall Street Journal event.

Musk’s remarks come at a time when several countries are reporting lower fertility rates. China and India, the world’s two most populated countries, both recorded fertility rates below 2.1. The replacement rate is defined as the rate at which a country’s population does neither expand nor decrease.

A fertility rate of less than 2.1 shows that the country’s population is declining, as there aren’t enough infants produced to replace those who die each year.

“Civilization will fall if people do not have more children.” “Take my word for it,” Musk added. While many “good, clever people” believe that overpopulation is a threat, Musk claims that this is not the case.

The prospect of an impending climate disaster, with little practical effort by corporations or governments to avert it, has heightened environmental anxiety among the younger generation. As a result of the heightened pessimism, fewer people wish to have children in the future.

Morgan Stanley, the world’s largest financial services firm, wrote to investors in July that the “movement to not have children because of fears about climate change is spreading and impacting fertility rates faster than any previous trend in the field of fertility drop.”
As a result of pollution and rising temperatures, climate change contributes to a decrease in fertility rates.
