Microsoft offers a $390 mln payday to Activision Blizzard’s CEO

Activision Blizzard’s Chief Executive, Bobby Kotick stands to receive a $390 million payday .On Tuesday, Kotick sold Activision to Microsoft for $68.7 billion. Regulatory fillings show that the majority of which will account to 3.95 million Activision shares that he owns.

Kotick will step down as soon the deal closes with Microsoft. The deal is anticipated to close in June.

Activision’s Investors have criticised the company for paying Kotick $155 million payday considered to be one of the highest compensation package .In response to this criticism ,the executive’s alary was decreased by 50 percent. Activision also abolished the ‘transformation transaction award’ which would have led to a special payout to Kotick.

Bobby Kotick has served as Activision’s CEO since 1991 and has made his company as one of the biggest video games giant.

In October, the sexual harassment and discrimination charges at the company led over 20 employees being fired and around 20 employees facing certain disciplinary proceedings. These charges also led to the drop in Kotick’s salary to $62,500.
