Tesla AI might play a role in AGI – Elon Musk Statement

Artificial general intelligence (AGI) is the hypothetical ability of a machine or robot to grasp or learn any intellectual work that a human can do by performing a wide range of tasks with ease.

In the not-too-distant future, the rise of AGI will almost certainly render human labour redundant.

For over a century, AGI has appeared in science-fiction stories. In the actual world, there is no perfect artificial intelligence (AI) or artificial general intelligence (AGI) with human-like skills.

Tesla is still a long way from being able to create artificial general intelligence. Machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) technologies enable machines to detect language, understand voice, recognise faces, and describe photographs and videos.

While robots may perform admirably on a given task, their performance can deteriorate substantially if the task or patterns are slightly altered.

AI systems are still a long way from achieving human-like sensory perception.

AGI models that combine human-like, flexible thinking and reasoning with computing advantages such as near-instant recollection and split-second number crunching are still being developed by scientists.

Will AGI be objective? No, a computer cannot be taught what is fair unless the AI system’s engineers have a clear idea of what fairness is. AGIs’ deviant conduct will also need to be addressed. To create systems that reliably behave, we must first define what “excellent behaviour” in each application domain entails.

The ability to deploy an army of intelligent robots capable of competing with the brightest people could aid in the development of new technologies and techniques to address intractable issues such as biotechnology dangers, mental health, ecological collapse, overpopulation, and climate change.

AGI also has a negative side: it has the potential to strengthen population surveillance and control, consolidating power in the hands of a small group of organisations, enabling terrifying weaponry, and removing the need for governments to care for the obsolete population.
AGI is the “greatest existential threat” to humans, according to Elon Musk.

Tesla is perhaps the world’s largest robotics company, according to Musk, because its cars are semi-sentient robots on wheels.

Tesla is developing Optimus, an AI humanoid robot that will listen to voice commands from its users. Tesla is branching out from making electric, self-driving cars to make humanoid robots that will “remove risky, repetitive, monotonous tasks.”

To enable an AGI, rapid advancements in areas like computer processing power, true artificial intelligence, and brain-mapping technologies are required.

While AGI may not be on the horizon, significant progress could be made in the next years.
The development of systems that can build models of the environment and use them to forecast future outcomes is the path to universal AI. Using generative adversarial networks could be an excellent way to accomplish this (GANs).
