Spotify will add “content advisory” podcasts talking over COVID-19 after Joe Rogan controversy

The music-streaming app Spotify says that it will provide information regarding COVID-19 so that people don’t get misguided. This decision was made after some high-profile artists and public figures criticized the platform for hosting Joe Rogan’s hit podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience.

Rogan has raised an argument describing his experience about the pandemic, the government’s hold over the scenario, its precautions, and the vaccine to control the virus.

Famous singers Neil Young and Joni Mitchell have withdrawn their music from Spotify over their objections to Rogan, who accused the coronavirus and the vaccine.

Britain’s Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have also expressed their concerns about the wrong information provided about COVID on the platform. But they are still determined to work with the company. 270 scientists and doctors have signed a letter requesting Spotify to take action against Rogan.

Keeping in mind the feedback, Spotify has decided to provide podcasts about the COVID-19. These podcasts will be data-driven facts, the latest information about the COVID as provided by the scientists, doctors, and other public health authorities as well as links to trusted sources.
