Union Budget 2022: 4 pillars announced by Nirmala Sitharaman
These priorities are: PM Gati Shakti, Energy Transition, Productivity, Financing of investments
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharamn announced early in the budget presentation to the public, about the major priorities. She said that- the budget will set the stage for ‘India At 100’.
PM Gati Shakti –
FM Nirmala Sitharaman has presented a budget that expands the PM Gati Shakti initiative. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched “PM Gati Shakti”, a national plan for multi-modal connectivity. It has essentially built a digital platform to include 16 Ministries including Railways and Roadways together for integrated planning and coordinated implementation of infrastructure connectivity projects.

Energy Transition –
This plan will deal with climate action, ultimately missioned to produce clean energy. That was expected by business leaders. The govt. will aid companies to initiate and work under these Green energy missions. The country is moving towards “Zero Emission”. Funds will be used for projects that will help reduce the carbon intensity of the economy.
Financing of Investments –
Capital investment creates employments, from large industries, MSMEs. Public investment is a must to pump the industries.
Productivity –
MSMEs such as Udyam, e-Shram, NCS & Aseem portals will be inter-linked, their scope will be widened, for pushing productivity.
A fund with mix capital raised under the co-investment model through NABARD to fund startups in agriculture & rural enterprises for farm produce value chain, was also proposed in the budget by FM Nirmala Sitharaman.
