Maharashtra Former CM Devendra Fadnavis wife Amruta Fadnavis gets trolled for 3% traffic divorce comment
Amruta Fadnavis sparked outrage on Twitter after she connected traffic congestion to divorce in Mumbai, claiming that 3 percent of divorces in the city are caused by people being unable to devote time to their families due to traffic congestion. The comment, which she made as a Mumbaikar and not as the wife of Maharashtra’s former chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, sparked outrage on social media and offline, with Mumbai mayor Kishori Pednekar and Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi both saying they’d never heard such illogical logic before.
Amruta then resorted to Twitter, citing a firm’s survey, in which it was discovered that Mumbaikars suffer from psychological and bodily disease as a result of massive traffic jams and traffic delays. Amruta said in a tweet addressed to Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, who laughed at Amruta’s divorce-traffic connection.
Amruta Fadnavis made the statement at the launch of the Cancer Free Maharashtra Campaign on Friday. After the video posted on Twitter on Saturday, the remark went viral.
“Ignore the fact that I am Fadnavis’s wife. I’m speaking as a regular person. Every day, I leave the house like any other woman. I, too, must contend with traffic and potholes on the highways. Because people are unable to dedicate time to their families due to traffic, 3% of instances result in divorce “”Milies,” she remarked.
Amruta Fadnavis’ claim, according to Mumbai mayor Kishori Pednekar, is incredible, and she has never heard this rationale that traffic causes divorces. “Amruta Fadnavis is the former chief minister’s wife. Her claim that traffic causes divorce is astounding. There are numerous grounds for divorce, but this is the first time I’ve heard it “”said the mayor.” Priyanka Chaturvedi, a Shiv Sena MP, remarked that if this is the truth, Bengaluru residents should not read it since it would be fatal to their marriages — Bengaluru is notorious for traffic jams.
