IPL 2022 Teams and their logos
The Indian Premier League is one of the most famous professional T20 cricket leagues contested by ten teams based out of ten Indian cities. IPL is usually held between March and May of every year and has an exclusive window in the ICC Future Tours Programme.
With the inclusion of 2 new IPL teams, BCCI decides to organize IPL Mega Auction for the 2022 edition.
Mumbai Indians
Undoubtedly the best team of ipl and the 5 times IPL trophy winners have the simplest logo design compared to other teams in the IPL tournament. The Mumbai Indians have a single design over their franchise name.
Mumbai Indians team motto: “Duniya Hila Denge Hum…” Though the franchise chose a single design for their logo it is considered as one of the most powerful symbols/weapons in Hindu Mythology.
The sole design in the Mumbai Indians logo denotes a Sudarshana Chakra. Sudarshana Chakra is a sharp-edged weapon predominantly used by the god Vishnu in Hindu Mythology.
The Sudarshan Chakra is a symbol of power and acts as a shield to destroy and negate any negative or evil forces that can cause suffering. Mumbai Indians, on considering to defeat all their opponents in the tournament, may have picked this design for their logo.
Chennai Super kings
In the history of the Indian Premier League, the Chennai Super Kings are without a doubt one of the greatest teams. CSK has won 4 trophies under the same captain, a record that is unique in the game.
CSK is led by MS Dhoni, the winner of four IPL trophies. The CSK tagline is Yellove and Whistlepodu.
When it comes to logos, CSK have a simple and powerful logo that roars like the players. Yellow is chosen as the base color where a roaring furious-maned lion with 4 visible fangs (long, pointed teeth) is printed in the first layer.
While not overshadowing the aggressive lion, the name of the franchise has been printed with a crown on top.
Delhi Capitals
Delhi Capitals are one of the few IPL teams that have not yet lifted their maiden IPL trophy. Delhi Capitals have managed to reach the IPL 2020 finals where they were defeated by the Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians.
The DC Tag Line is Dildaar Dilli.
In the Delhi Capitals logo, DARK BLUE is the team’s base color. As the first layer, a shield-like structure bearing the logo of the Parliament building has been designed. The team’s name has been printed at the top of the design area, along with three roaring red tigers at the bottom.
Kolkata Knight Riders
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have won two IPL trophies so far (till IPL 2021), with Kolkata (West Bengal) as their home city. KKR defeated CSK in the IPL 2012 finals, stopping CSK from winning a hat-trick of IPL titles.
KKR struggled to win their third trophy following their second trophy in IPL 2014. Although they entered the IPL 2021 finals, CSK triumphed by 27 runs over the Riders to win their 4th IPL championship.
The KKR tagline is Korbo, Lorbo, Jeetbo Re (act, fight, and win!)
In designing their logo, Kolkata Knight Riders drew deep inspiration from the name of the franchise. In KKR, a shield structure is designed over which a knight warrior’s helmet with fire waves is designed.
Kolkata Knight Riders uses a bold golden character to represent their name within the shield area.
Punjab Kings
In the 14th edition of the IPL tournament, the Mohali-based IPL franchise changed its name from Kings XI Punjab to Punjab Kings.
In 2014, they finished as first runners-up, and in 2008, they finished second runners-up. In the cash-rich tournament, Punjab Kings still awaits their first IPL title.
The PBKS tagline is ‘Sadda Punjab’
The Punjab Kings have a logo that has a simple design with a shield-like structure outlined in gold as a base. Within the shield area, you can see the franchise name, a roaring maned lion, and its four fangs(long, pointed teeth).
A golden colour represents the franchise’s logo (lion) and first name (Punjab), while a bold white character represents the second name (Kings).
Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan Royals are the first team with a home and away kit in the inaugural IPL edition. As well as claiming the first IPL trophy, the team also
Having an overseas coach and captain for the first time

In 2008, RR became the first team to chase a record IPL score of 217 against Deccan Chargers.
In November 2008, RR was the first team to launch a YouTube channel.
The tagline for the RR is Halla Bol
There are two logos used by the Rajasthan Royals. There is a boundless version and another used in their team jerseys and official products. This version of the logo, referred to as the Royal Crest, was created specifically for modern visual communications. When liberated from the confines of the oval and the lions, the monotone crest becomes a versatile symbol of the team’s identity, used on apparel and other creative materials.
The Royals’ logo is designed to evoke pride and grandeur by honoring loyalty and team spirit.
RR’s large central symbol is celebrated by the lion buglers. Rajasthan Royals are known for their fair play and competitiveness on the field, but their logo symbolizes joy, pride, and celebration.
In 2009, after receiving feedback from fans on elements that needed strengthening, the logo was redesigned. Throughout, it emphasizes the strategic intent of the franchise, which is to listen to and engage its fans.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
RCB is undoubtedly one of the teams with a huge fan following in the IPL. Even though they have yet to win their maiden IPL trophy, their fans still hope and believe for a glorious moment.
The RCB tagline is: “Ee Sala Cup Namde and Play Bold”
RCB Logo Meaning: Royal Challengers Bangalore have unveiled a new logo for the IPL 2020, which looks more or less like an award in which a standing furious lion shows its one-sided body with a crown on its head. RCB’s logo is attractive due to the black, red and golden combination.
The RCB explained the design of the new logo in a statement: “The new logo with the majestic lion illustrates and brings alive RCB’s philosophy, a bold and fearless attitude of playing exciting cricket. It balances simplicity and iconicity of the lion to create the next chapter for one of India’s most iconic sports teams. The visual identity represents the bold pride and challenger spirit that each RCB team member brings to the team.”
Sunrisers Hyderabad
SRH won their first IPL title in 2016 by defeating RCB in the finals after making their IPL debut in 2013. SRH acquired players from Deccan Chargers, one of the defunct IPL teams.
The SRH tagline is “Rise Up To Every Challenge”
It might be because they rose from a defunct team that they chose their franchise name Sunrisers Hyderabad. Further, the team is owned by the Sun Group, which may explain its name.
SRH is the only team with a bird design in its logo. Absolutely!! Eagle is SRH’s logo design, with a backdrop of the rising sun. The eagle is regarded as the bird that flies the highest among its species. Due to this, the franchise chose the Eagle design for its logo in order to stand out from its competitors.
