TATA IPL Mega Auction 2022: Punjab Kings is on Fire in today’s auction!

TATA IPL Mega Auction 2022: The auction has already have started, earlier the BCCI announced a list of 590 players who will be up for the auction on February 1. The IPL 2022 mega auction will be held in Bengaluru on February 12th and 13th. Of 90 players, who registered for the auction, 228 are capped, 355 are uncapped and 7 belong to Associated Nations. Also, among the 590 players, 370 are Indian and the remaining 220 are overseas players. Meanwhile, 33 South African players will be a part of the mega auction.

 

Punjab Kings is on fire The Punjab-based IPL franchise rechristened to Punjab Kings and the team management would hope for a change in fortune after the revamp last season. Skipper KL Rahul’s departure from the team after IPL 2021 means that PK is on the hunt for a new skipper for the 2022 season. Shikhar Dhawan is sold for Rs 8.25 crore.

The Punjab Kings have the biggest purse heading into the IPL 2022 auction with a total of Rs 72 crore. They have only retained two players for a salary deduction of Rs 16 crore. Head coach Anil Kumble will look to build the side up from scratch again and hope they can vie for the IPL 2022 title after poor performances in the last few seasons.
