Today saw heated bidding in the first session of the IPL super auction. Shikhar Dhawan was the first player to go under the hammer, selling for Rs 8.25 crore to Punjab Kings. Ravichandran Ashwin was acquired by Rajashtan Royals for Rs 5 crore. Shreyas Iyer, for whom KKR bid Rs 12.25 crore, is the most expensive player so far. Teams also made strong bids for Australian talents Pat Cummins and David Warner.
