TATA IPL Mega Auction 2022: Riyan Parag bought for 3.80 crores by Rajasthan Royals
Riyan Parag bought for 3.80 crores by Rajasthan Royals. There was a war between Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals to bag him.
16-year-old Riyan Parag debuted in the 2017β18 Ranji Trophy for Assam on 17 November 2017. Parag’s Twenty20 debut for Assam in the 2016-17 Inter State Twenty-20 Tournament on 29 January 2017 was a taste of the competitive level before his FC debut. Assam’s impressive domestic form led to him being drafted into the Under-19 World Cup squad, which ultimately won the title.
Rajasthan Royals bought the right-handed batsman at a base price of Rs. 20 lakh during the 2018 auctions. In the next season, Parag became the youngest player to hit a fifty in the IPL, passing Prithvi Shaw and Sanju Samson. In his rookie season, he scored 160 runs in 7 matches and will be looking to take things to the next level next year.
