Governments ask companies to raise cyber guard across the world
Citing Ukraine crisis and sanctions in response to Russia’s aggression, the government warns companies to raise their cyber guard.
On Wednesday, in most of the countries, governments ask companies to raise cyber guard. Currently, there is an ongoing stand-off between Russia and Ukraine, Ukrainian crisis. The crisis is forcing governments of different nations, one after another to impose sanctions on Russia. Initially, the whole West imposes sanctions on Russia. Further, Japan, Canada, and Australia follow the suit.
The countries levying sanctions believe that their actions will in turn act as a prompt for Russia to turn to its good old tactics of cyber attacks in response.
Five Lines take as Governments ask companies to raise cyber defence
As Australia forewarns its companies against a possible cyber attack, its alliance members have already taken stance on the situation. Five lines is an alliance between the intelligence agencies of five different countries. These countries are Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK, and the US. Whereby UK advises that such attacks have a ‘historical pattern’. Similarly, Canadian Centre for Cyber Security is alerting its administrators to isolate its critical operations from internet. While, the US has issued warnings against a possible cyber attack as early as in January.
