Breaking News : Russia President Vladimir Putin to be tried in International Court of Justice
Ukraine has filed a complaint with the International Court of Justice (ICJ) against Russia, the country’s president announced on Sunday.
“Ukraine has filed an application with the International Court of Justice (ICJ) against Russia. On Twitter, Volodymyr Zelenskyy remarked, “Russia must be held accountable for using the concept of genocide to legitimise attack.”
“We are requesting an immediate ruling directing Russia to suspend military action,” he said, adding that “trials are expected to begin next week.”
Late Sunday, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) issued a statement stating that Ukraine has filed an application against Russia, demanding that the court designate “”temporary measures.”
It went on to say that Ukraine’s application was linked to the “The 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide’s interpretation, application, and implementation.”
Ukraine accused Russia of “planning crimes of genocide in Ukraine” and “intentionally killing and inflicting serious injury on Ukrainian nationals,” according to the application.
According to the latest reports by TV9 Bharatvasrh, the ICJ has accepted the application of Ukraine. Russian President will be tried in the International Court of Justice.
