Pakistan PM Imran Khan challenged EU countries to send the same letter to India that they sent to them
PM Imran spoke about the European Union envoy’s letter to Pakistan during a public rally in the Tehsil Mailsi of the Vehari District. PM Imran Khan was accompanied by Chief Minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar and other government officials.
“EU ambassadors wrote a letter to Pakistan, asking us to issue an anti-Russia statement. I ask EU ambassadors “did you write that letter to India as well?” said PM Imran.
“At the time, the country’s leader supported the US,” said Prime Minister Imran. He wondered what Pakistan gained from supporting the West besides losing 80,000 of its citizens, displacing 3.5 million people, and losing more than $100 billion.
PM Imran Khan reminded the envoys that instead of thanking Pakistan, some in the West blamed Islamabad.
The premier said Islamabad will not take part in any war but will be a part of peaceful solution to the conflict. He added that Pakistan is friends with Russia, the US, Europe, China and was not part of “any camp”.
The Prime Minister stated that Pakistan had suffered as a result of its support for the Western NATO alliance in Afghanistan, and that instead of gratitude, it had faced criticism.
He recalled Pakistan’s assistance to the Western bloc during the War on Terror (WoT), adding that if he had been in power at the time, he would never have made Pakistan a party to the war.
“We are friends with Russia, and we are also friends with America; we are friends with China and with Europe; we are not in any camp,” Prime Minister Imran Khan said, adding that Pakistan would remain neutral and work with those attempting to end the war in Ukraine. He went on to say that we are not with anyone who is involved in war, but we will always stand with anyone who is involved in peace.
