England v West Indies: Joe Root wins the toss and bats first
At Antigua, England won the toss and elected to bat first in the opening Test match against West Indies.
Joe Root’s decision will put Alex Lees, the opening batsman selected for his Test debut, in the spotlight, alongside Zak Crawley, who was impressive in the Ashes.
Root moves up to No 3, while Lawrence, who went on the Ashes tour but didn’t play any of the five Tests down under, will take his place at No 4. The top six is completed by Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow, with Ben Foakes back behind the stumps and batting No. 7.
