Samsung India to donate Rs. 20 crores for the COVID-19 relief fund

Samsung India will be donating Rs. 15 crores to the PM CARES Fund, and the balance to the states of Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu to fight the crisis. 

Amid the global coronavirus crisis situation, Samsung India on April 14 announced that it would contribute Rs. 20 crores for the relief efforts. The company will be donating Rs. 15 crores to the PM CARES Fund and the balance to the states of Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu to fight the crisis.

The company also informed that workers across the country are combining their contribution and the organization will match the employee contribution and give the whole amount to the PM CARES Fund soon.

“We are also supporting the authorities at hospitals and other facilities by giving a huge amount of infrared thermometers and public address systems. Furthermore, Air Purifiers that are vital to improving the ambient air quality in medical facilities are also being given,” read an official statement.

“Over the last few weeks, Samsung has hastened deliveries of Digital X-ray and Digital Ultrasound machines that it gives to government hospitals as part of its Samsung Smart Healthcare citizenship program,” the statement noted.

To fight this pandemic, Samsung has given help to local administration and community in Noida, where the company has given hospitals with medical equipment needed in the preventive drive against the coronavirus.

“In Noida, Samsung is also supporting the local administration and local police in providing food packets to local communities daily,” the company declared.
