Chinese Embassy in France Tweets Arnab Goswami taking a jibe at American Professor lecturing India to condemn Russia

Arnab Goswami has become a new Twitter trend after the Chinese embassy posted his “rage” against the US over the Ukraine issue. The news sparked outrage on Twitter, with individuals debating the Republic TV founder’s popularity even in China.

Goswami slammed an American participant during a debate about Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine. “Now I tell you something….First and foremost, with the greatest of respect, you have no moral basis to discuss,” Goswami stated to his American guest, a professor. You have no right, as does America, to claim to be the defender of democracy and human rights.”

Goswami did not stop there, highlighting the human rights crimes committed by the US and its partner forces in a number of countries throughout the world, including Iraq and Libya. “You are the worst atrocity perpetrators. In 2011, you and Barack Obama interfered in the developing Libyan civil war, utilising NATO and Arab League partners to extend the conflict… You started a civil war in at least six countries.”

The video of Goswami’s diatribe was quickly posted widely by the Chinese embassy in France and other social media influencers. The official Twitter account of the Chinese embassy in France, which shared Goswami’s video with Chinese subtitles and dramatic music, said, “America is in no position to pretend to be the custodian of democracy and human rights!”

While Goswami’s enemies were quick to provide another video of the Republic TV founder from one of his previous discussions in which he was heard advising a Chinese guest not to promote democracy in India. The TV anchor’s followers, on the other hand, took advantage of the situation to emphasise his popularity even in China.

India has chosen to abstain from any voting in the United Nations in order to remain neutral in the present Ukrainian issue. The American visitor in question was seen pleading with India to abandon its neutrality and intervene in the conflict. The United States and the United Kingdom have backed Ukraine and levied a slew of penalties on Russia and its wealthiest oligarchs.
