Mayur Kamat joins Binance as the new Head of Product

Binance has named Rohit Wad, a former Corporate Vice President at Microsoft, as CTO, and Mayur Kamat, formerly of Agoda, as Head of Product.

Wad will be in charge of developing scalable, compliant, and fast Web3 services and solutions. He will also be in charge of ensuring the exchange’s continued security, stability, and liquidity, as well as meeting the evolving regulatory compliance requirements in the regions where the platform is available.

Wad will also focus on significantly expanding the engineering team in order to accelerate the organization’s progress.

Kamat will be responsible for all aspects of Binance’s product strategy, roadmap, and development. He will lead the team in developing products that will increase crypto adoption and lower the barrier to entry for Web3 technology. Wad and Kamat will both work to make Web3 services more accessible and usable to the general public, as well as to drive innovation within the Binance ecosystem.

“My career has been focused on using technology to improve everyday life,” Kamat said.

“Crypto assets are owned by less than 10% of the addressable internet population.” Our goal is to bring the benefits of Web3 technology to the masses by making the products simple enough that anyone in the world, including those who are unfamiliar with it, can use them. I am humbled to be able to play a small part in bringing financial freedom and inclusion to billions of people.”

“We are working on many Web3 experiences and solutions that will be transformative to billions of people, beginning with the freedom of money,” Rohit Wad added.

“I am thrilled to be able to share the incredible advances and potential of Web3 technology with everyone.”

Wad joins Binance with over 30 years of engineering and development experience. Wad previously worked as an Engineering Director at Facebook and Google before joining Binance and Microsoft. Wad was a key figure in the development of Microsoft Teams and Skype.
