Why Electric scooters in India are catching fire? Check out our findings

Electric scooters in India are making rounds on social media for catching fire. Many social media handles have shared this drastic news of these EVs getting on fire. Electric Vehicles were introduced to reduce the dependency on fossil fuels. However, many have started to fear the dependability of these electric vehicles.

So now let’s come back to our question Why Electric scooters in India are catching fire?

According to many reports many of the key players in the EV market rely on Chinese batteries. These Chinese batteries are low-cost lithium-ion batteries. Many companies rely on these low-cost batteries to lower their cost of manufacturing.

Because of low-quality control in this sector now many accidents are happening because of that. There was a video of an OLA scooter engulfed in flames on the road was going viral on social media.

The government of India is also planning to bring in legislation to reduce the amount of risk connected with these electric scooters. Many companies have stated that it’s because of the high temperatures in India. However many tech experts have flunked all these excuses from the EV manufacturers.

This not only endangered the safety of the passengers but also the passerby. Even Tesla and Hyundai EV cars were also caught on fire. However, we believe if the manufacturers follow the correct practices to reduce these accidents to have a safe EV market.
