IIIT-Lucknow student got Rs 1.2 crore salary package from Amazon, highest ever in the institute
Abhijeet Dwivedi has been appointed as a Software Development Engineer for Amazon in Dublin, Ireland
A student of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Lucknow has received a package of Rs 1.2 crore annually. Not only this, it is also the biggest package that any student can get at IIIT Lucknow. According to a Times of India report, Abhijeet Dwivedi has been appointed as a software development engineer for Amazon in Dublin, Ireland.
Abhijeet, who is in his final year of B.Tech in Information Technology. He has broken all previous placement records with his staggering annual package. The Prayagraj native says that soft skills helped him crack the interview.
“I watched several videos to prepare myself for the interview,” he told the Times of India. He said, “Soft skills matter a lot. So engineering graduates should not think that they only need technical knowledge. Communication skills and body language are also equally important.”
Abhijeet also shared some tips for other graduates seeking placements. “To get a good job, one needs to work on certain things. Build relationships like getting in touch with seniors to know about job opportunities and getting tips from them to crack interviews,” he said.
He also advised the students to create profiles on popular employment portals which are regularly updated with every new job.
For IIIT-Lucknow, it has been a tremendous year. Not only in terms of Abhijeet’s record-breaking Amazon package but also because the institute has been able to achieve 100% placements for its students. 61 students got placements, while four opted for higher studies.
Also, this year the average salary package was Rs 26 lakh per annum. Much more than last year. According to Dr. Arun Mohan Sherry, Director, IIT-Lucknow, the highest salary package till last year was around Rs 40 lakh. “It shows that we are going in the right direction,” he said.
