After Cristiano Ronaldo confirmed the tragic death of his newborn baby, one of the twins, Manchester United issued a message of solidarity and condolences to him and his family. On Monday evening, the 37-year-old made a joint statement with partner Georgina Rodriguez in which they shared the heartbreaking news and confirmed the birth of their newborn daughter.
It said: “It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parent can feel. Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.
“We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support. We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time. Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you.”
Manchester United offered a message of condolence to the grieving family via social media. It said: “Your pain is our pain, Cristiano. Sending love and strength to you and the family at this time.”
On Instagram, a lot of other United players have expressed their support. Cristiano Ronaldo has stated that he will miss Manchester United’s match against Liverpool tonight (April 19) due to the untimely death of his infant boy. Cristiano Jr., Ronaldo’s son, was born in 2010, while twins Eva and Mateo, Ronaldo’s daughters, were born in 2017. In the same year, he and Rodriguez welcomed their first child, Alana Martina.
According to a statement on the United website, family comes first, and Ronaldo is helping his loved ones in this extremely tough situation. Ronaldo scored a hat-trick in United’s 3-2 victory over Norwich on Saturday at Old Trafford. His unavailability will be a big shock to United, who are looking to strengthen their chances of finishing in the top four against Liverpool, who can leapfrog Manchester City to the top of the standings if they avoid loss.
