After Man Utd’s 4-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool, Gary Neville has called for Glazers to leave the club

In the aftermath of Manchester United’s 4-0 thumping against Liverpool, Gary Neville has made an emotional call for the Glazers to sell the club, saying “there’s something rotten” about the club. United were overrun by their opponents on a night that interim manager Ralf Rangnick described as “humiliating,” as their hopes of finishing in the Premier League’s top four were dashed yet again.

Neville acknowledged that the club’s players and coaches deserved criticism, but stated the Glazers’ “continuous failure over 10 years,” as well as the dividends they continue to extract from the club, indicate that it is time for them to depart Old Trafford. In an interview with the Gary Neville Podcast, the former United defender detailed his concerns against the American family that has owned the club since 2005, following a “shamble” defeat to Liverpool.

This Manchester United team has consistently disappointed us. Their performance levels are the worst we’ve ever seen, and this is from the beginning of the season to the end. There’s nothing to see here. Ralf Rangnick knows how to set up a football squad, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did a reasonably good job for the preceding two or three years, but they’ve both been destroyed by this bunch of players.

It was a low point on Tuesday night. Even against the worst Liverpool team we’ve ever faced, we’ve never had it so easy. Jamie Carragher acknowledged that he was part of various Liverpool teams that were thrashed by Manchester United’s Sir Alex Ferguson, but that he and his teammates never went so low.
