Windies white ball captain Kieron Pollard bids adieu to international cricket

It’s an end of an era in the history of the West Indies cricket, Kieron Pollard, current limited overs captain has said a goodbye to international cricket. Pollard known for his hard hitting batting skills and only the third player in international cricket to hit 6 sixes in an over has been a huge support system and backbone to the West Indies over the past years. However, he doesn’t have much international exposure as he was more occupied with playing T20 leagues all around the world, he has been an important part of the Indian Premier League Franchise Mumbai Indians and has played a major role in their five championship wins. Pollard has played a total of 204 international matches with 4,275 runs with 97 wickets.

He made this announcement through a social media post on Instagram. He was also part of the triumph that won the 2012 ICC WT20 tournament, the BigMan made his international debut in the year 2007, the last series he played against was India back in February. Pollard never played Test cricket as he always was perfect for the limited overs format.

“Hi all, after careful deliberation, I have decided to retire from international cricket. It as a dream of mine to play for West Indies for over 15 years in T20 and ODI format of the game,” Pollard announced on his official Instagram page.
