Djokovic reaches first final of 2022
One of the most consistent and followed tennis player Novak Djokovic has booked his spot for the Serbia Open final by beating Karen Khachanov on Saturday. The illustrious Serb has also won the Serbia Open back in 2009 and 2011. He will now face Andrey Rublev in the finals on Sunday. Djokovic was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Dubai Championship earlier this year in February, he will probably will now eye to get his hands on the Serbia Open trophy.
After a lot of controversies which were surrounding him earlier like not allowed to play in the Australian Open because of the unvaccinated status he had, which also resulted in loss of tournaments in the United States. The current World No. 1 made a strong comeback in the semi final match to beat Russia’s Rublev with a score of 4-6,6-1,6-2.
This is the second meeting the two finalists will be having after the previous year ATP Finals, which came in Djokovic favour.
