Bio bubble likely to be removed in the upcoming IND v SA T20I series

After the restrictions the Covid – 19 pandemic has caused, everything has suffered in some way or other. Due to the Covid – 19, the cricket matches had to be also done within the restrictions, for which the players had to stay in bio bubbles. However, it is likely to be seen that bio bubbles will be removed from the upcoming India v South Africa T20I series in June, the series will be played across five cities. Although, the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) will take a call on this after assessing the Covid situation at the time of the series.

“If all goes well and things remain in control like it is right now, there will be no bio bubbles and hard quarantine during the home series against South Africa,” a BCCI official said. “Then we are going to Ireland and England and there won’t be any bio bubble in those countries too”, he further added.

The bio bubble environment and harsh quarantine rules is something which is now mentally exhausting for all the players and it is also not going well with some in their on field performances. Former India head coach Ravi Shastri had spoken about the same and suggested a break for former Indian skipper Virat Kohli due to his struggling form.

In UK, there are no such restrictions now and players can roam around freely, the tour consists of one test and six white ball matches.
