‘Hire Me As A Face Of Twitter,’ Tweets Star Trek Actor – Here Is How Elon Musk Replied Him
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has been making headlines for his tweets that have shattered the internet since he sealed a $44 billion agreement to buy microblogging platform Twitter. Musk’s Twitter friendship with Star Trek star William Shatner has sparked a social media controversy.
Shatner expressed his willingness to be the face of the social media behemoth on Twitter. “BTW, it seems to become the ltest “thing” on here. I’m stating that I’m staying on Twitter. Besides I think @elonmusk is adorbs. Also, full disclosure: I’m trying to pitch Elon to hire me as face of Twitter. #dumpthebird,” the actor tweeted.
The tweet has approximately 40,000 likes and over 1,600 replies as of this posting.
“You will always be my Captain,” Musk responded quickly. Shatner is most recognized for his role of Captain James Kirk of the USS Enterprise in the Star Trek franchise, that has a huge fan base.
Musk has previously engaged in a Twitter spat with US Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez when she issued an oblique reaction to his post claiming that the Democratic Party had been overtaken by extremists, according to Bloomberg.
Musk addressed Democrats in a tweet to his roughly 89 million followers on Thursday, just hours after a cartoon depicting liberals racing far to the left since 2008.
Ocasio-Corte slammed Musk’s claim about the party without identifying him. She blamed hate crimes on “some billionaire with an ego problem” who “unilaterally controls a large communication platform” in another tweet, but she didn’t specify who she was pointing to.
Musk, on the other hand, replied to that tweet with the words “Stop hitting on me, I’m really shy,” followed by a happy face emoji. According to a ProPublica collection of deleted politician tweets, Ocasio-Cortez responded on Twitter, “I was talking about Zuckerberg, but ok,” in an apparent allusion to Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and then deleted the post 57 seconds later.
