The Irish Katie Taylor will be having her biggest match of her career when she will face Amanda Serrano on Saturday night in the most competitive women’s fight ever. Madison Square Garden will be the place where Taylor will be in the unusual surroundings of a suite. Both the fighters will be the first females to mark a bill at the Garden and also the first ones to make over $1m each.
“The fact this is going to be a sellout Saturday night, (shows) there is a great appetite for female fights,” said Taylor, who lobbied for women’s boxing to be included in the Olympic programme before winning gold in London a decade ago. Katie Taylor is unbeaten till now in her career, with 20 – 0 and six knockouts.
Taylor defeated Cindy Serrano (Amanda Serrano’s sister) in 2018, and know Taylor’s opponent will be looking for revenge and scripting history. The Empire State Building will light u with the colours of the Irish and Puerto Rican flags as the two face each other.
