Premier League announce late fixture alternations for Man City vs West Ham and Everton vs Brentford on May 15
The league match between West Ham and Manchester City has been rescheduled. This comes after the Hammers pleaded with Premier League bosses to help them win the Europa League this month.
Man City and West Ham
The crucial match in London has been rescheduled for Sunday, May 15. The kick-off time, however, has been pushed forward from 4.30 pm to 2 pm. The reason for this is that the Europa League final is only three days later, on Wednesday, May 18. And West Ham’s preparations will benefit greatly from the extra hours. That is if they can pull off a historic comeback against Eintracht Frankfurt in the second leg of the semi-final match.
The Germans won the opening leg 2-1 in Berlin last week. And West Ham will be hoping for another amazing match like the one they had against Frankfurt in 1976 when Trevor Brooking inspired a comeback to win the European Cup Winners’ Cup. The change of venue is unlikely to concern City, who won the previous meeting 2-1 at the Etihad in November.
This is due to the Champions League final isn’t until Saturday, May 28, and City is on track to make it after leading Real Madrid 4-3 in the semifinals heading into Wednesday’s second leg.
Everton and Brentford
Brentford’s Premier League match calendar has been altered, this time with a change in kick-off time for their final away encounter. The match will still take place on Sunday, May 15, but it will now begin at 4.30 p.m. The game was initially scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Because of the Emirates FA Cup Final the day before, it will be played on Sunday, May 15th. The decision to broadcast the game live, as well as changes to the schedule of West Ham United v Manchester City, which is also on the same day, has resulted in a change in kick-off time.
Brentford has opted to refund all fans who have already bought a ticket for the match with the value of their Everton ticket due to the fixture change and the disruption created. This refund will be applied to individuals who have already purchased tickets for the game.
Brentford will play Everton for the third time this season, and it will be their second visit to Goodison Park. In November, the Bees defeated Everton 1-0 in West London, with Ivan Toney scoring the only goal. When the clubs met in the FA Cup Fourth Round in February, Ivan scored once more, but this time Everton won with four goals of their own.
